Reigning Miss Tourism Mombasa County Tima Keilah has now decided to venture into model advocacy and nurturing talents. Keilah is set to start an organistaion/ company that will be help in advocating for better working conditions and the rights of local models in Mombasa County.

According to Keilah this will play a big role in improving the industry at the County.

“Im starting it with a partner from Europe” she said

She added “We want to improve the profession. Represent models better and advocate for better conditions for us in the industry while giving clients good quality service to meet their demands. We hope to get into Mombasa big. We believe we can change the face of the industry”

Keilah noted that the unique thing about this organisation will be “we will register our models absolutely free. They are essentially the bosses, they pay us to work for them. The money the pay is for portfolio developement and their comp cards”

She has however already started working with local models with one of the main appearing in the recently released music video by Tanzanian¬† Christian Bella and Ali Kiba “Nagharamia”.

“my main motivation for it. Is i have received alot of questions from aspiring models on how to go about things in the industry and from prospective clients with marketing needs. From my time in modelling i have learnt alot of lessons from joining scruples agencies to fake managers, and so has my partner. She was born in Kenya but is of half Italian descent and has grown up in Belgium where she modeled all across Europe and is former miss Belgium Africa before deciding to return home. Through mutual experiences though at different capacities we decided that it is time that we ourselves as models be the change that we want to see in the industry.”
