Elizabeth Marami made history after becoming the first female marine from the country, her courageous and unpopular move inspired many especially ladies who have for a very long time shunned the profession since its male dominated.
The 25-yr old lady from Mombasa has now been made an ambassador for the Always brand in their new initiative dubbed “stand up” .
she will be encouraging young girls to stand up for their dreams and aspirations. Last week she visited Matuga girls high school where she distributed over 300 packs of always to the girls, she was accompanied by Mombasa County Gender Director Esther Ingolo and radio personality Mwende Macharia. During her visit at the School, Marami was moved to tears by a story from a lady called Salma.
“Today we stood up for matuga girls high school! Over 300packs of always were donated to the girls while I was privileged to share the stage with lovely ladies such as Esther Ingolo, Radio maisha’s mwende macharia and Salama who shared their stand up stories and encouraged young girls to pursue their dreams! It was so much fun however I was moved to tears by one lady Salama, I hope to share her story after her consent on my blog and you all can know that we all need someone to stand up for us. So please do so for that young Kenyan girl…she asserted.
kenya Women basketball captain Silalei Owuor is also the brand ambassador.
