Embattled Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry [KNCCI] National vice chairman Laban Onditi Rao has been officially replaced.
A source revealed to Ommydallah that outspoken KNCCI Mombasa County Chairman James Mureu has now taken over the post.
The source also pointed out that Mureu’s vice Chairperson Rukia Rashid has taken over as the KNCCI County Chairperson.
“Mama Rukia is now the chair as Mureu who is currently outside the country heads to the National office. We are waiting for his return to officially hand over everything including audit reports” said the source
Mr Onditi was suspended over his alleged involvement in an attempt to grab a 10-acre piece of land in Embakasi in Nairobi owned by popular restaurant City Cabanas.
The KNCCI suspended Onditi when he faced criminal charges early this year.
Appearing in court early this year, Onditi denied the three conspiracy to defraud charges and was released on cash bail of Sh300,000 with an alternative of a Sh500,000 bond.
