Mombasa based Bandari Fc midfielder Anthony Wambani has been crowned as the player of the month (February) in the Kenyan premier league.
Wambani was this morning presented with a personalised trophy, cheque of shillings 100,000 courtesy of Sport pesa and a 49 inch television courtesy of LG.
The team which also produced the best player in 2016 , Mohammed Sharif was also awarded shillings 50,000.
Wambani outshined five other players from Mathare, Gor Mahia and Bandari to win the title.
Addressing Bandari players after the short ceremony, Mombasa County Executive in charge of Youth, Gender, Sports and cultural affairsMunyoki Kyalo promised to organise a meeting between the players and Governor Hassan Joho.
“The Governor is committed in uplifting and supporting local talents and i want to promise you that i will organise a meeting when he is back” said Kyalo.
He also promised the team full support from the County Government.
Kyalo charged “We want to see that the trophy comes to our county and we promise you our full support, technically and in any other ways”
