One of the wives to former Tourism and Wildlife Minister Emmanuel Karisa Maitha has died.
Alice Mbodze Maitha who was the third wife to Maitha died today afternoon after being sick for sometime. She had been undergoing treatment in the Intensive care unit (ICU) at the Coast general hospital for close to three weeks.
Maitha died of a heart attack in 2004 while on an official visit to Germany to market Kenya as a tourist destination
Alice vied for the Mombasa Senatorial seat in the 2013 general elections through TNA but lost to Hassan Omar.
Funeral arrangements are currently underway at the family home in Shanzu.

We the family of the late Hon Karisa Maitha have lost our dear Mum Alice Mbodze Shehe Maitha. She is the third wife to the late Maitha. Mum to Byrum
To all those who walked this journey with us two weeks ago, To the Angels who God sent to help us at our time of need, to those who picked our phone calls late in the night or during the day, to those who paid us a visit at Coast General Hospital and to those who couldn’t make it, we express our heartfelt gratitude.
