Man boards ferry thinking its ship heading to Yemen . Later arrested by police over terror suspicions


Police in Mombasa yesterday (Thursday) arrested a man of Yemen national at the Likoni ferry channel on suspicion of being a terrorist.

The man who was identified as Mohammed Waleed was said to be seeking direction to Somalia from a member of the public, its then that the member of  public became suspicious and led him to Likoni police station where he reported him to the  police.

According to the police the suspect came to Kenya from Yemen using a flight  but decided  to go back using a  ship arguing  that he did not have enough money for a return air ticket.He boarded the ferry from Mombasa mainland thinking it was a ship and that it was  heading to Yemen.

Police recovered a military combat from the Man. He was later  taken to the regional anti terror headquarters for questioning.
