Mombasa DG Kingi urges local investors to take advantage of newly launched Kisumu- Mombasa direct flights

Mombasa Deputy Governor William Kingi has called on local investors to take advantage of the newly launched Mombasa – Kisunu direct flight by Silverstone Airline.

Kingi noted that the new direct flights will now open new opportunities and expand the local tourism sector.

“The challenge remains to the local residents to explore new opportunities beyond the usual” said Kingi.

Speaking during a dinner to launch the new route officially in Mombasa, Kingi assured local investors that the County Government is committed to creating a conducive business environment for all.

Kingi Charged “The potential for local tourism is enhanced by the new link and can diversify the product offered to international visitors through uniqueness of the western Kenya tourist circuit”.

The Deputy Governor also noted that domestic air transport is becoming cheaper and more accessible where demands of business can be met easily.

Kingi was accompanied by the County Chief of staff Joab Tumbo.

Silverstone Air sales manager Patrick Oketch said the Mombasa-Kisumu route was introduced due to demand and a desire to promote local tourism.

The airline will be using two types of crafts on the Mombasa-Kisumuroute, a Dash 8-100 with a capacity of 37 passengers and a Forker 50 with a capacity of 50 passengers

The flight cost will be from Sh10,500 for a one-way ticket.
