The fifth edition of the Mombasa Open International Tong IL Moo Do championship came to a close yesterday evening. The two day tournament which attracted teams from different parts of Africa and Asia started on Saturday at Aga Khan Academy Mombasa.
Team Kenya emerged the winner in most of the categories on both Junior and senior events.
Amina Ismail from Kenya scooped all the top three medals after she posted 6.92 points to win gold in under 14 girls category with Joseph Nassor winning gold with 6.92 points in Boys under 14 category.
Dennis Shadrack of team Kenya won all the medals in the special technical category. Raquel Valle from Philippines won the gold with 8.20 points in the female individual form category with Kenya through Ruth Rono taking home a bronze.
Noel Sequine of Philippines won gold with 8.64 points in the men special technique category with Dawit Assefa from Ethiopia winning Silver and Ratsameechoklap David from Thailand taking Bronze
Team Kenya scooped 75 medals with 23 golds, 22 silvers and 30 bronze followed by Philipines who got 5 golds, 4 silvers and 2 bronz.
