Relief for Joho as court blocks his arrest and prosecution over KCSE certificate forgery claims.

Mombasa Court Judge Erick Ogola has today ruled that the investigations  into the alleged forgery of KCSE certificate by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho are against the Governor’s constitutional rights  and are meant to discredit him.

In his judgement the Judge said the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Director of Criminal Investigations misused their powers thus breaching and violating Joho’s rights.

The judge also questioned the timing of the said investigations.

“The acts against the petitioner were unfair, abuse and breach to his constitutional rights. They were done out of malice ” stated the judge.

“The state agencies were simply coming  after Joho and trying to nyorosharing him” he added.

The Governor had earlier gone to court to stop the investigations and any arrest accusing the offices of DPP and DCI of harassing him.

Early this year, detectives from the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) visited Joho’s former School Tom Mboya Primary to verify his academic history.
