Senator Mbura out to break Mijikenda tradition on Women and leadership

Mombasa County Nominated Senator Emma Mbura is a woman on a mission, she is out to break the Mijikenda tradition on leadership, Women not taking part in leadership.

Mbura who is also eyeing the Rabai Parliamentary seat is banking on the Women votes and believes that this belief is likely to affect her ambitions. She is now calling out on Women to support each other.

“If we do not unite as women, we are the ones who will suffer because we will forever be relegated to modern day slavery by our men” argued Mbura.

The nominated senator  has since managed to initiate different projects in the area with the one of securing six incubators from the Egyptian government being one of her biggest. The incubators will play a major role in fighting the ever increasing problem of infant mortality in the region.

Mbura is also banking on the support of the youth who together with the Women are the majority voters in the area.

She has always been in the forefront in fighting for the rights of Women, Youth and the minorities. She has also been fighting for the rights of Kenyans working or seeking employement in Saudi Arabia and has several occasions managed to have some of the Kenyan workers returned safely in Kenya especially those who had been mistreated by their employers.
