Speaking to one of the local radio stations in Tanzania, AY revealed that he was first surprised and shocked when he heard that Jaguar had decided to join politics.
AY is quoted saying “Siku ambayo alisema anataka kuingia kwenye siasa nilishtuka kidogo lakini vitu ambavyo alikuwa anavifanya ni kama wanasiasa kabisa na pengine hata zaidi, so naamini jimbo la Starehe wamepata mtu sahihi na nina uhakika atawafanyia mambo makubwa (I was first shocked when i heard he was getting into politics but his ways could tell that he is a politician. I believe the people of Starehe have got the right leader”
AY is further quoting saying that Jaguar’s win is a clear indication that artists too hold a key position in the society and can influence the community through their work.
The two artists, AY and Jaguar have worked together before in the song “Nimetoka mbali”.
