Kwale’s Ngumu tupu backs Raila, Uhuru unity

A political group allied to ODM in Kwale County Ngumu tupu has come out in support of the newly formed unity between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition chief Raila Odinga.

According to the group’s leader senior councillor Hassan Chitembe, the move by the two top leaders is a show of statemanship.

Chitembe also congratulated Odinga for the “selfish” move arguing that the country is larger and more important than an individual.

“This Country is bigger that Uhuru, Raila, Mudavadi , Kalonzo or Wetangula and we would like to congratulate Raila for the move to meet the President” said Chitembe.

“What the two did needs to be encouraged and appreciated” he added.

The former Councillor for Mkongani ward also took issue with those especially from other parties allied to opposition criticising the meeting saying they are “selfish”.

“Those who are criticising Raila for meeting Uhuru are just selfish. Where was Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula when Raila was taking the oath they should first explain to us before calling Raila a betrayer” argued Chitembe.

He accused Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula of focusing too much on 2022 politics and losing focus on key issues like changes.

Chitembe charged “These three are just too busy with 2022 politics while Raila is trying to bring changes and fight for the local Kenyan”
