Mohammed Ali not off the hook yet, voter seeks to appeal petition ruling

Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed Ali alias Jicho Pevu is faced with a second hurdle after a voter filed a notice to appeal.
The Nyali voter Daniel Omondi Abwao through an advertisement in a daily newspaper said he had moved to the court of appeal to appeal against Justice Lydia Achode’s decision to uphold the election of the Nyali MP.
The voter through Balala and Abeid advocate has filed a summon on Jicho Pevu through the newspaper advertisement.
Meanwhile ODM’s Said ‘saido’ Abdallah who lost to Mohammed Ali has vowed to challenge Ali’s win using all possible avenues.
He said as much as he respects the court judgment he is not satisfied with the verdict and is moving to the court of appeal in Malindi.
“That is the only venue to challenge the high court judgment against the election petition filed by a Nyali voter Daniel Omondi Abwao against the incumbent,” he had pointed out
Saido had vowed to challenge the election of Jicho Pevu until justice prevails after allegedly being denied justice at the high court in Mombasa.
He had been reacting to a high court judgment which upheld the former journalist’s win during a press conference at the famous Treasury Square in Mombasa county while accompanied by his supporters.
