Saido, Shipeta and Emma Mbura conceed defeat


Several candidates vying for parliamentary from different constituencies in Mombasa County have come out to conceed defeat after provisional results showed their competitors winning the race.

Among those who have pulled the move is Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s cousin Said Abdallah(Saido)  who was vying for the Nyali Mp  seat,  results show that his main competitor former Journalist Mohammed Ali is leading.

Saido took to social media to conceed defeat.

“I would like to congratulate my opponent Mohammed Ali for winning the Nyali Mp seat.  I sincerely thank all those who took their time and came out to vote for me yesterday and Iam greatful. I also thank all my team members for all the hardwork. It is my hope that development in Nyali will be a priority as had been my will. Thank you all very much” posted Saido who was vying on an ODM ticket.

Mathias Shipeta who was vying for the Jomvu parliamentary seat on a wiper ticket has also conceeded defeat.

He wrote ” Jomvu has spoken. I wish to pass my congratulatory message to the incumbent Hon. Badi Twalib. I also wish to sincerely thank all of you who came in my support during this political life. We live to fight another day. God’s perfect will has been done though sad, God will always be great.  Thank you Jomvu.

Provisional  results show the incumbent Badi Twalib leading.

Another politician who also made a similar decision is Nominated Senator Emma Mbura who was vying for the Rabai parliamentary seat in Kilifi County.

Mbura who before joining politics was a vocal activist based in Mombasa noted “pongezi muheshimiwa Kamoti.  Rabai ni yetu na tutasimama kuhakikisha mabadiliko yanapatikana. Nimekubali matokeo kwa roho safi na nimefurahi”
