Just a day after the Government through the ministry of Health banned the importation, exportation and use of shisha in the country, Kisauni Mp Ali Mbogo has come out to support the move.
According to Mbogo, most youths especially from Mombasa had become addict of the drug without knowing their side effects thus affecting their lives.
“Its very sad going to pirates to find young boys siting in a table full of miraa and pipes of shisha” said Mbogo.
He added “Most of these youths use shisha without knowing that it is also mixed with cocaine. This move to ban it is very good and i support it”.
The ban has attracted mixed reactions with a group of shisha traders lodging a petition challenging its legality.
He was speaking during the launch of a new scholarship programme for students from Kisauni who sat for their KCPE examinations this year and scored over 350 marks.
The programme will see the over 150 students benefit with a full one year scholarship.
Mbogo charged “Be careful when you report to school, stay away from drugs and concentrate on your studies”
