Stick to business and leave politics to us, Mombasa Jubilee politicians tell Shahbal

A section of Jubilee party candidates from Mombasa County who lost in the last elections have  come out to respond to a press release released yesterday by some party officials.

The politicians  led by Said “Mathias” Mwalimu who was vying for the post of MCA in Majengo ward but lost are blaming Suleiman Shahbal for Jubilee’s poor performance in the county.

“Shahbal failed to put his house in order. He is a failure and the reason for all the woes currently facing the party in Mombasa” said Mathias.

“Let him stick to his business and leave politics to us” he added.

Shahbal was also vying for the Gubernatorial post but lost to Joho. He was heading the party’s campaigns in Mombasa.

Mwalimu also refuted claims made yesterday by the party Chairman Matano Chengo that Shahbal provided enough resources including cars to the candidates.

Mwalimu charged “He did not give us any cars, he only had his personal cars branded with his picture trying to market himself, just like the way you will put your portrait in your living room so that any visitor coming into your house can see it”.

The politicians said they prefer Tourism cabinet Secretary Najib Balala to head the party affairs in the county and not Shahbal arguing Balala is more experienced in terms of politics and can manage the affairs well.

“Balala is a very experienced politician, he is better than Shahbal and that is the person we want” said Mtakina Mohammed, a candidate for the Old Town MCA position.

Mtakina however said they will still criticise CS Balala whenever he goes wrong.

“This does not mean that we will not criticise Balala whenever he does anything wrong, if he does what Shahbal has done we will still use this platform to criticise him” argued Mtakima.

They further pledged to continue campaigning for president Uhuru Kenyatta and make sure that he wins in the coming October fresh Presidential election.
